A lunchtime talk with Ian Dyson, Commissioner of the City of London police at the White Hart Hotel.

Ian Dyson started his career with the Metropolitan Police in 1983. He has worked in many different areas – including the crime and drug squads, vice and strategic planning – and has extensive experience in commanding the policing of large public events.

He became Assistant Chief Constable at Surrey Police in 2008, overseeing some of the highest confidence levels in the country, before joining the City of London Police in 2010.

Promoted to Commissioner in January 2016, he was awarded the Queen’s Police Medal in the New Year Honours list that year.

Commissioner Dyson is currently the national police lead for both Economic and Business Crime and the national police lead for Information Technology within policing.
